"Focus of Happy People"

Do you think happy people are blind to reality? Or do you think they see things that the rest of us miss?

I think the answer may include a little of both, but I also think that, in the final analysis, people are happy because they make up their minds to be. Let me explain what I mean.

Most happy people aren't blind to the pain in the world, but because they have chosen to be happy, they don't focus their attention on it. They don't let the cruelty and injustices that are undeniably present in the world rob them of the pleasures and beauty that are also undeniably there.

And, it's entirely possible that happy people can see things that others don't, because their power of paying attention is enormous. Your attention, when you really focus it, is a lot like a searchlight. When you focus on beauty, you're simply going to see more beauty than other people do.

The same thing happens when you focus on a problem: you see it everywhere you look, even though people around you may need to have it pointed out to them.

Where is your attention focused these days? Do you see mostly problems, or solutions? Are you surrounded by people you enjoy and appreciate or are you surrounded by people who give you nothing but trouble? Does life send you an unending cavalcade of pleasures or a litany of pain? And finally, how could changing what you focus your attention on change the results you're getting?

Full circle

We exsist on a universal coil constantly on the verge of an evolutionary leap. Each turn catapults us to the next change and begins the process of our rebirth. Similar to the life of the butterfly, the caterpillar is forced to mutate and grow into a form he never knew exsisted unless he allowed the course of nature to pull him towards the next phase. Our future selves pull us in the direction we need to go. Life is always operating in yes mode. We only can get in our own way. Your higher self watches over you with a calm and silent knowing. Watching you trip and fall along the way, smiling with affection only we could show ourselves. Let yourself be loved because You love yourself. At some point you will look back and laugh about this day.... why not start smiling now :)

Freedom, Growth, and Joy

My Career Is One of Creating a Joyful Life Experience. . .

If your dominant intent is to feel joy while you are doing the work, your triad of intentions—freedom, growth and joy—will come quickly and easily into alignment. See your "career" as one of creating a joyful life experience. You are not a creator of things or a regurgitator of what someone else has created or a gatherer of stuff. You are a creator, and the subject of your creation is your joyful life experience. That is your mission. That is your quest. That is why you are here.

- Abraham

Be the example..

We Are Each Responsible for the Thoughts We Think. . .

When you are in alignment with who-you-really-are, you cannot help but uplift those with whom you come into contact. Your value to those around you hinges upon only one thing: your personal alignment with Source. And the only thing you have to give to another is an example of that alignment—which they may observe, then desire, and then work to achieve—but you cannot give it to them. Everyone is responsible for the thoughts they think and the things that they choose as their objects of attention.

Living the Mystery

1st Verse

The Tao that can be told
is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named
is not the eternal name.

The Tao is both named and nameless.
As nameless it is the origin of all things;
as named it is the Mother of 10,000 things.

Ever desireless, one can see the mystery;
ever desiring, one sees only the manifestations.
And the mystery itself is the doorway
to all understanding.

Help others, help yourself

Aries Horoscopes - Sunday, Jul 20th, 2008 -- You may be afraid that you won't get what you want today. You can, however, take the pressure off your own needs by volunteering your time to a charity or helping out at a church or community event. Doing something that has a noticeable impact on the lives of others will help you to feel better about yourself.

Zest to Create

I Have Control Over the Thoughts I Think. . .

Since you have control over what thoughts you offer, what could be more just than the powerful Law of Attraction responding equally to everyone who offers a vibration? Once you gain control over the thoughts you think, your sense of injustice will subside and will be replaced with the exuberance for life and the zest to create that you were born with. Let everything in the Universe be an example to you of the way the Laws of the Universe work.

Your magical story

It Comes, Not by Magic But by Universal Law

Start telling a better-feeling story about the things that are important to you. Do not write your story like a factual documentary, weighing all the pros and cons of your experience, but instead tell the uplifting, fanciful, magical story of the wonder of your own life and watch what happens. It will feel like magic as your life begins to transform right before yours eyes, but it is not by magic. It is by the power of the Laws of the Universe and your deliberate alignment with those Laws.

No grudges today

Aries Horoscopes - Sunday, Jul 13th, 2008 -- It may be hard for you to hold a grudge today, mostly because you fail to see how it could possibly benefit you. You are very capable of making others feel at ease, especially if you are not in an accusatory mode. Even if you meet a bit of resistance at first, others will likely soften under your friendly approach.

Reaching a crossroads

We all know the love haze. We all know what it's like to fall in love, live in the fantasy world where only the two of you exist. You could lie in bed and stare at each other for three hours while the world revolves around you. Some call it the honeymoon phase. The word phase inherently suggest that it's temporary and is going to end or change at some point. I've heard some couples say they are still in that phase and don't think it's ever going to end - that's just how great their relationship is. The commonality between those relationships is there is an element or a sentiment that the relationship is not forever. Though they are in that love haze state where everything is perfect when they are alone - they have yet to transfer or bring that love to their current reality. Either they are scared what others will think about their partner and their relationship or the parents won't accept them and their love. Whatever is fueling the fear, it is keeping the relationship from going to the "next level" - thus the crossroads. If the love you are experiencing does not transfer into your everyday life, with family, friends and work, then how do you see the next 60 years going? Though we all love the haze, we need our partners to be able to navigate and thrive within our normal lives - it's the only way for sanity and for your evolution to continue. We can get trapped in the haze and believe that it is enough to get us through life but in reality it is not. As much as you love your lover now, how much more will you love them when you see a sparkle in your friends and families eyes when they see you guys together? We see our lovers for who we perceive them to be and how they make us feel and then we see them through the eyes of other people and how they make them feel - especially the people who are close to us and have our best interest at heart. Let your love shine to the world and be the example for those around you on what love is. If you can't let your love shine at it's fullest potential, maybe you should move on and find another path where you can.

On forgiveness

Confucius said that, "To be wronged is nothing unless you remember it." He was absolutely right, and here's why. Every time you remember something bad that happens to you, some wrong that was done to you, you feel those bad feelings all over again. You record the event in the neuron structure of your brain, and it plants itself in your subconscious.

Now your subconscious doesn't know the difference between a vividly imagined or remembered event and the real thing. It is all "real" to your subconscious. When you subject yourself over and over again to painful, angry memories, eventually your system begins to break down. The poison of the not forgiven hurt and anger attacks you from the inside out.

When you forgive, you open yourself to wonderful new possibilities.

Better and better

When you reach for the thought that feels better, the Universe is now responding differently to you because of that effort. And so, the things that follow you get better and better, too. So it gets easier to reach for the thought that feels better, because you are on ever-increasing, improving platforms that feel better.

High, high standard

Find thoughts that feel good, because it is inevitable that you are going to always be moving toward something. So why not be moving toward something that is pleasing? You can't cease to vibrate, and Law of Attraction will not stop responding to the vibration that you are offering. So, expansion is inevitable. You provide it, whether you know you do, or not. The only question is, what is the standard of joy that you are demanding for yourself? From your Nonphysical perspective, it's a high, high standard.

I Choose my Choice!

The avid "Sex and the City" watchers among my readers will recognize the title of this post from a particularly profound episode where Charlotte decides to exit the workforce and to devote her energies to volunteering, home redecorating and bowl glazing. Naturally, her friends question her choice after so many years devoted to her career.
It seems since the inception of the feminist movement, we women have found a way to use our new-found choices as weapons against one another. The decision to work, not to work, to work part time, to job share, to have kids, to not have kids, to telecommute, to adopt, to surrogate, to marry, to marry someone with kids, to marry someone with a vasectomy or hysterectomy, to marry someone of your gender, to marry someone of the opposite gender, to marry yourself and register only at Manolo Blahnik - the possibilities are endless.
Whatever choice women make for their own lives, other women seem capable for the most part of using those choices to chastize one another rather than to celebrate the diversity of options that a generation or two ago simply did not exist.
This all came to a head in the last few weeks on a blog created by high school classmates of mine. For the first few months, everyone who posted comments and pictures on the blog had chosen to marry and have more than a few kids (one had 5 and we're only 27!). So, I posted a shout-out to those who had made different choices and had instead gotten advanced degrees and delayed the kid/marriage thing. Several supportive posts from friends who are either doctors, lawyers, or lobbyists followed and all seemed equalized. Until some anonymous fuck posted that there's clearly a "reason" my friends and I are unmarried or without kids. My reply - yeah, I CHOSE that!
As long as women denigrate the choices of others, call each other sluts or fail to support one another - we all lose. At the risk of ending this post with some total Girl Power-esque bullshit message here's my final thought: Make your choice and stand by it!

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Monday, May 26th, 2008 -- The chatter in your brain won't allow you to rest much today. In fact, it could even keep you awake as you wonder how to simplify your life. Don't worry if there doesn't seem to be an easy way out of your dilemma. It's less important now to take any specific action than it is to pause long enough to see what's really going on.

As I sit awake getting work done at 5am this morning - this thing has got my number.

Glory to greater Glory

When you realize within, “I am on the planet as a localization of a cosmic event,” you are claiming your identity as a local distribution center for delivering what is happening throughout and beyond the cosmos: love, beauty, compassion, joy, creativity, harmony, peace. Sure challenges arise, but you relate to them in their proper context—as rich material to work with. You live as a co-creative agent with the Spirit to fully express your unique identity. As you begin to love and appreciate yourself, you realize that all beings are an emanation of First Cause, and so it becomes natural to express compassion, forgiveness and to pray that everyone experiences the glory of their existence. You begin to realize that how you see the world and what you experience are projections of the quality of your own consciousness. Equipped with this insight, you quit demanding that circumstances and people change, and instead you take self-responsibility and work within yourself for a transformation in consciousness. Your life becomes an ongoing revelation so that you literally live from glory to greater glory. You consciously choose to live by the evolutionary principles governing the universe. You accept that there is an innate greatness within you that must be disturbed into action, so you welcome challenges as a vehicle for awakening to your true nature. You begin each day with an attitude that “this is the best day of my life, and by the end of this day I will have a deeper realization about the universe, about the Invisible, about myself and the true art of living.” In these ways you go about living the wisdom that your true identity is not determined by anything or anyone outside of yourself.

A tree in a storm

Like a tree standing tall in a wind storm, once the storm is over only the strongest, newest leaves remain. All of the old dead leaves have flown away revealing a new changed tree ready for the next gust of wind. Such as in life when you are caught in the middle of the storm, when someone has done you wrong, when you feel like things aren't going your way, instead of feeling like you need to take action to change things, be still. Hold your ground and let whatever you were holding onto that doesn't serve you anymore fly away. Once the turmoil has passed what is left is your true essence, true presence and consciousness, a clarity and light that can now shine without pretense. In and through this storm is when the most rapid of change happens. So when you see the storm approaching or your caught in the middle of it, hold your ground and just remain because change is coming.

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 -- You must stay focused today as you push up against some of the same fears that previously held you back. The difference is that this time you are even more highly motivated to get it right. A major shift is about to change everything, so your clarity at this time is quite helpful in clearing the air.

You Joy your way to joy

Life is supposed to be fun. You said, "I'll go forth and choose. I'll look at the data, and I'll say, yes to this, and yes to this, and yes to this, and I'll paint a picture of the things that I want, and I'll vibrate about them, because that's what I'm giving my attention to. And the Universe will respond to my vibration. And then I'll stand in a new place where a whole new batch of yeses are available, and I'll say yes to this, and yes to this, and yes to this." You did not say, "I'll go forth and struggle into joy", because from your Nonphysical Perspective you know it is vibrationally not possible. You cannot struggle to joy. Struggle and joy are not on the same channel. You joy your way to joy. You laugh your way to success. It is through your joy that good things come.

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Sunday, May 18th, 2008 -- Things are looking up, yet there's a stress that won't magically disappear. But even with too much happening, you can make time to enjoy yourself without going into denial about something important. You have an innate skill: you can stay focused in the present moment when you are passionate. Use your concentration wisely by preparing for what's coming instead of scattering your attention all over the place.

Let go let god

Aren't you just thrilled that there are billions of beings of intelligence within you? Cells that each know what's best for them? And as they find what's best for them, it is ultimately what's best for you--unless you're focused upon something unwanted and using that as your excuse to block the flow. They are asking, Non-Physical is answering. Are you in the way or are you letting it flow? That's what this "Letting go and letting God" is all about. It's about relaxing and no longer hindering the communication between the individual askers. Every particle gets to individually decide. And as every particle asks, it is answered--and the Whole continues to thrive.

Everyday I'm supported and zinged

General Daily Horoscope for everyone

Although the Moon remains in moody Cancer today, energetic Mars finally leaves this emotional sign to roar his way into the fiery realm of Leo the Lion. We may be able to ride the wave of positive energy for the next couple of months, for Mars is happy to be back in a sign where the action is. Meanwhile, expansive Jupiter begins its retrograde phase, encouraging us to make the most of an opportunity we already have, rather than chasing new ones.

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Friday, May 9th, 2008 -- The warrior planet Mars is your personal ally, so you can surely feel it as he enters relentless Leo, where he stays until July 1. Mars symbolizes the part of each of us that will fight for what we want. There is a palpable change of pace that brings an increase of physical energy. Don't be afraid to have some fun while utilizing this phase to accomplish as much as you can.

The energy has shifted in the most amazing way.

It's okay to be afraid

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Thursday, May 8th, 2008 -- Although it's probably a workday, you still might feel like staying home. The Moon in self-protective Cancer asks you to soften your sometimes too aggressive stance. Be more sensitive, not only to others, but also to yourself. Sometimes going on the offensive is just your way to avoid feeling fear. There's no need to act like a superhero; it's really okay to be afraid.

This tarot.com horoscope calls me out everytime! Don't be afraid? Is that not what i've been putting out to the universe the last couple of days. Why did you do that he asks? I said, because I'm afraid. Well we're over it now. Cancel, I'm better than that. Operating out of fear will never allow you to live an authentic life. When we operate in the absence of fear, or as I like to say, when we have fear but we go for it anyway, that is when we will be truly significant and successful.

Fill your sails

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 -- Something has changed, even if everything is still the same. You are in a very different place today, but the only thing that's really new is your attitude. Nevertheless, that is enough to fill your sails with sufficient wind power to get you to your desired destination. Don't wait to take action or you could miss your opportunity.

To get your environment or those around you to change, the initial change happens in your mind. By doing absolutely nothing but being absolute presence and awareness, the universe around you begins to shift and all your wants and desires rush towards you seemingly from out of nowhere.

A New Earth

When you become aware of the transience of all forms, your attachment to them lessens, and you disidetify from them to some extent. Being detached does not mean that you cannot enjoy the good that the world has to offer. In fact, you enjoy it more. Once you see and accept the transience of all things and the inevitability of change, you can enjoy the pleasures of the world while they last without fear of loss or anxiety about the future. When you are detached, you gain a higher vantage point from which to view the events in your life instead of being trapped inside them. (Let go or be dragged.) The recognition that This, too, shall pass brings detachment and with detachment another dimension comes into your life - inner space. Nonresistance, nonjudgment and nonattachment are the three aspects of true freedom and enlightened living.

Message from Lou

Just about every successful person I've ever met, whether they are in business or one of the professions, sports, the arts, or any other field of endeavor, has had the benefit of at least one mentor. Very often, they've had many more than that.

Mentors are people who have achieved success themselves and want to pass along what they've learned to others. They don't usually tell you what to do - that's not their role - but they do help you weigh your options and think through decisions.

Who are you mentoring and who is mentoring you?

Aries Horoscopes (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Sunday, Mar 16th, 2008 -- Although anxiety may prevent you from fully relaxing today, a solution to your problems is on the way. You must, however, remain open to the love that's already in your life. The current conflicts are internally motivated and aren't just about external circumstances.
